Our Venue Policies

Challenge 25 Policy
To ensure compliance with age regulations, if you appear under 25, we’ll kindly ask for identification to verify you are 18 or older when purchasing alcohol. Additionally, on peak days, entry may require presenting ID as well. We accept photographic driving licenses, passports, HM Forces cards, or any ID featuring the pass hologram.

Guest Experience Policy
Our experience has been curated to ensure that every guest who steps into our world, has a truly memorable experience. Any guest found to be acting irresponsibly or impeding other guests’ experience will be asked to leave with immediate effect. We value your experience and will not tolerate any disorderly behaviour. Please respect our teams and those around you at all times.

Please head to our booking page where you can see all our live availability and navigate through the days and times. Please note our availability does change frequently. Our availability is live and all tables available will show online.

Amend a booking
Please email us to make amends to a booking: and include your booking reference, name, date and time. N.B. If you see a time available, we advise booking this and then cancelling your original time with us, to secure the booking you would like. Our availability changes frequently.

Group Bookings (5 or more people)
Due to the nature of our experience, the maximum booking capacity at the moment is 4 people per booking. Large groups could book, however these would be across separate tables to ensure everyone enjoys the experience to its fullest potential. We hope you understand and we can’t wait to welcome you soon. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need any additional information or assistance.

To cancel your booking, please get in touch with us directly at and include your booking reference, name, date and time along with the reason for cancelling.
Please refer to our cancellation policy before making a last minute decision to cancel. Our 48-hour cancellation policy requires you to provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your reservation. Cancellations made within less than 48 hours will incur a charge of the menu price per person, while cancellations outside this time will not be charged.

We use Resdiary which is linked to DishCult where you can check and amend all booking details. If you cannot access this, please contact us here: and we can assist you. We will need your name, the email address and contact number that were used to book. If you could add in your planned date to visit, this is also very helpful for us to assist you in locating your booking.

Running Late
We allow a 15 minute grace period for all bookings, so please don’t worry if you are slightly late. If you think you’ll be delayed more than 15 minutes, please call the restaurant directly and they will try our best to accommodate you. Due to the restaurant concept and how busy our venue can be, this may result in your booking having to be rescheduled.

Prepay a booking
If you wish to pre-pay a booking in advance or as a gift, you can do so by purchasing a digital gift voucher. Once you have your confirmation email, please contact with the voucher code and we can ensure this is removed from the bill, along with a personalised message.

Before confirming your reservation please ensure you have read the below in full. Somewhere by Nico is an independent venue relying upon bookings being honoured by our guests or sufficient notice being given of any required changes to reservations.

Cancellation notice
We kindly request that diners give us a minimum of 48 hours notification if a cancellation or an amendment is required. To cancel within less than 48 hours, please email or fill out a contact form. If you cancel within less than 48 hours, please call us on 01416116222 and if you can’t get through then please leave us a voicemail and we will get back to you. Alternatively you can email us and we will let you know when it’s received.

Do I pay if I put in my card details?
We require debit/credit card details for all reservations to secure your table with us. These will be held in a secure pci-dss compliant vault. A charge of the full price of the menu per person will be made if the cancellation terms are not met. Unfortunately, our experience of parties failing to cancel or amend bookings dictates this precaution is now necessary.

About Your Experience 

What to expect
Our cocktail tasting experience changes every six weeks, and is inspired by a different dreams, stories, memories and myths. Some creative cocktails come with a playful food pairing and all come with a sprinkling of surprise. All of our cocktail tasting experiences are available with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, so you can enjoy it whether you choose to drink alcohol or not. 

How long is a booking
On average, the cocktail tasting experience takes around 2 hours to enjoy. However, this is variable depending on the time of day and how many guests you are enjoying the experience with. It can take between 1 hour and 45 mins and 2 hours. 

Dietaries and allergens
Our experience is designed with care and attention, ensuring our teams can execute this to the highest standard possible. Every cocktail tasting menu has a non-alcoholic and vegetarian alternative. While we will try our best to cater to dietary requirements we may not have a substitute for certain dishes. At present, we are able to offer a vegetarian alternative for the menu. Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate additional requirements such as vegan at this time. This is something we are working towards for our next menu. In the early stages of our concept, we are working on refining every detail and ensuring that the experience is to the standard required. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused at this time.

No dress code
Our concept aims to create an immersive and affordable cocktail tasting experience, without any fuss. We have no dress code to ensure a friendly and relaxed experience for everyone. Please dress to ensure you’re comfortable for the occasion of your visit. 

Menu Announcements
Our portals to new worlds begin every six weeks. When one portal closes, we will allow everyone the opportunity to sign up for first access.
We recommend joining our mailing list to ensure you are part of this access. 

Are you child friendly?
Our experience has not been created for children and it is not recommended for children to join you. However, in extreme circumstances, our license permits children on our premises until 8pm. At no time at all are children permitted to take part in the cocktail tasting experience. We can provide soft drinks only. We ask that you make a responsible decision in bringing a child along. The experience is not suitable for children younger than 4 years of age. We do not have pram access or areas for prams to be kept.

Venue Accessibility 

Our Glasgow venue, nestled within a cherished listed building, is located on the first floor with access only via stairs. Unfortunately, we are restricted to current planning permission guidelines that prohibit alterations to the building’s entrances or internals that are necessary for the installation of a lift.
We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Our Edinburgh venue is fully accessible.

We currently have digital gift vouchers available to order. Digital vouchers can be ordered online and emailed directly to the recipient on a day and time of your choice. Perfect for surprising them on their birthday! Physical gift vouchers can also be ordered online to be delivered to your chosen address within 3-4 working days. In Venue Purchases
You can buy physical vouchers from each venue however we recommend doing this between 12pm – 3pm, Wednesday – Sunday only, to avoid any delays as our venue is very busy in the evenings.
